EBSCO Supports Library Choice
Buying a large package through a consortium provides greater access but also creates far more work for your library’s technical services staff. Not knowing what titles your library is buying makes collection management difficult and time consuming. In response to the overworked librarian who needs detailed information on the local level, EBSCO is pleased to support Library Choice.
Library Choice is a simple way for a library to take advantage of the publisher deal with their consortium in terms of price and features, while still receiving the collection knowledgebase. The publisher also supports the library’s need for local conditions and will allow the subscription agent to process and manage the order. The agent continues to provide the title-level detailed information that your library needs to maintain its collection.
With Library Choice, you are free to place orders directly with the publisher, consortia or your preferred agent. Having your preferred agent involved enables them to work with the consortium and the library to satisfy their local requirements and makes the process more manageable.
The Association of Subscription Agents & Intermediaries (ASA), which includes all major subscription agents, supports Library Choice.

Benefits:
- Take advantage of the publisher deal with the consortium in terms of price and features and receive the workload support from your preferred agent
- Single contact for orders, payment, claims and renewals – save time and money by eliminating administrative work
