EBSCO-Owned EMpact Sales™ and CSIRO PUBLISHING Sign Exclusive Partnership Agreement

—EMpact to sell CSIRO PUBLISHING journals in South Korea and regions of Latin America

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., USA – March 26, 2009 – EMpact Sales™ (EMpact), the publisher representation group of EBSCO Information Services, and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) PUBLISHING have signed an agreement in which EMpact will serve as exclusive sales and marketing representative. According to the agreement, EMpact will promote 23 scientific-based, peer-reviewed journals for CSIRO PUBLISHING, in both print and electronic format, in South Korea and Latin America, including Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico.

EBSCO-Owned EMpact Sales™ Enlisted as Sales Agent by IOP Publishing
—EMpact Sales to promote IOP journals in certain regions of North, Central, South Americas and the Caribbean

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., USA – March 12, 2009 – EMpact Sales™ (EMpact), the publisher representation group of EBSCO Information Services, has entered into an agreement with IOP Publishing (IOP) in which it will serve as sales agent. The agreement grants EMpact the rights to sell IOP’s print and electronic journals in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad, Central America, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Aruba and the Caribbean, including the Bahamas.

Karger Hires EBSCO-owned EMpact Sales™ to Promote New Karger Hospital Collection in Major Territories across the Globe
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., USA – Feb. 24, 2009 – Karger, an independent, family-owned publishing house based in Basel, Switzerland, and EMpact Sales™ (EMpact), the publisher representation group of EBSCO Information Services, have partnered to provide the new Karger Hospital Collection to customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, United Kingdom, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. According to the partnership agreement, EMpact will serve as sales and marketing representative and consultant for Karger in these territories.

EBSCO Publishing Introduces Multilingual Health Databases™ Non-English Content for Public Libraries
―The most-asked health questions now answered in 17 languages in EBSCOhost®

IPSWICH, Mass., USA – Jan. 23, 2009 – Public libraries serve a growing non-English speaking population, as well as patrons who speak English but find it easier to read in their native languages. EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) will help libraries answer the health-related questions for these patrons with new Multilingual Health Databases™. EBSCO will offer 17 databases in highly sought after languages. The databases contain evidence-based reports for the 200 most common health topics, written at a third to seventh grade reading level. Each database is presented entirely in the given language, including screen wording, help, browsing, and full text.
