EBSCO/RETRO — EBSCO supplies full MARC 21 bibliographic data records to the library for retrospective conversion of serials. The library's current subscription list is matched to the Library of Congress MARC Serials Database, and the appropriate records are extracted to a file for delivery to our customers. EBSCO supplements the 856-tag of the appropriate records with durable URLs for electronic journals on order with EBSCO. EBSCO also inserts 902-tag information.

ELECTRONIC INVOICE FOR SERIALS — Once the appropriate interface links are established, invoice information is supplied by EBSCO in electronic format to load directly into the library's local database. This process posts payments and other invoice data to each record, eliminating time-consuming manual input.

ELECTRONIC ORDERS FOR SERIALS — Order information is electronically transmitted to EBSCO, speeding the communications on to publishers. This efficient method of ordering offers the library savings of time and expense associated with the manual processing of orders.

ELECTRONIC CLAIMING FOR SERIALS — Claims information in EDI format is electronically transmitted to EBSCO and passed on to publishers in a fraction of the time required for sending claims conventionally. Claims reach publishers more rapidly, effectively increasing the timeliness of responses.

ELECTRONIC INVOICE FOR BOOKS — Once the appropriate interface links are established, invoice information is supplied by EBSCO in electronic format to load directly into the library's local database. This process posts payments and other invoice data to each record, eliminating time-consuming manual input.

ELECTRONIC ORDERS FOR BOOKS — For customers of EBSCO Book Services, book order information may be electronically transmitted to EBSCO directly from the library’s ILS. This efficient method of ordering offers the library savings of time and expense associated with the manual processing of orders, and eliminates the need to record the order on the EBSCO Books Website.

SISAC BARCODE — EBSCO customers using our JETS consolidation service can automatically check in journal issues by scanning the SISAC barcode into their library system. The SISAC (Serials Industry Systems Advisory Committee) barcode symbol uniquely identifies each issue of a serial publication using the ISSN, date of publication, and volume or issue number. EBSCO produces a SISAC barcode for each journal received by our JETS system, and attaches the barcode to the journal cover. Libraries with SISAC compatible Integrated Library Systems can check-in the issue by simply scanning this barcode.

ELECTRONIC Checkin — EBSCO supplies check-in data in the specified EDI format for loading into your library system. Check-in data is available for print journals received via EBSCO’s JETS consolidation service and for e-journals that are on order with EBSCO.

EBScan™ DATA INPUT SYSTEM — EBSCO provides printed bar codes for ease in entering account information, unique subscription identifiers and other data into the library’s system. Inclusion of this data is often required to facilitate electronic services such as claiming or ordering. Information is simply scanned into the appropriate fields, saving hours of library staff time and eliminating keystroke errors. This service is also available in a spreadsheet (Excel) format.
