Department of Health, Victoria (Australia) Selects EBSCO as Managing Agent to Provide Health Content to Health Sector Employees

Birmingham, Ala., – Sept. 25, 2009 –EBSCO is pleased to announce that the Department of Health, Victoria, Australia has selected EBSCO as its managing agent for the next phase of the Clinicians Health Channel contract, providing a web-based portal for all departmental employees to access world-class clinical health and decision-support resources. This opportunity further extends the Clinician’s Health Channel information service to healthcare practitioners, clinicians, doctors, nurses and health librarians throughout Victoria’s metropolitan and rural areas.

The EBSCO solution encompasses the newly released EBSCOhost® Integrated Search (EHIS) for state-of-the art federated searching for subscribed health content and utilizes Web-based tools EBSCO A-to-Z® and LinkSource® for content access and management.  

The portal solution provides key research databases MEDLINE®, CINAHL® Plus with Full Text, and PsycINFO® via the powerful and intuitive EBSCOhost® platform and includes Dynamed, the leading evidence-based decision support medical reference available today. 

This long-term deal has been awarded to EBSCO in collaboration with MIMS Australia and other key Australian and international publishers in the clinical health sector, including publisher partners Australian Medicines Handbook, Therapeutic Guidelines, STAT!Ref, Wiley and Elsevier journals, New England Journal of Medicine, British Medical Journal and others.

In addition to providing Web-based access and management tools to the Department of Health, EBSCO has partnered with Eduserv ANZ to ensure seamless and reliable access to content through the Athens authentication system. Furthermore, all users will benefit from 24/7 Help Desk and ongoing customer support available to all departmental staff.
